According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City have reached a personal agreement with Gianluigi Donnarumma and are now negotiating with Paris Saint-Germain over a transfer fee. The deal is expected to be finalized before the window closes.

Romano reports that Donnarumma is eager to work under Pep Guardiola and has accepted a long-term contract from City. PSG, who initially demanded €50 million, are now open to selling for a lower fee.

PSG had already confirmed that Donnarumma would no longer be part of their plans. After contract renewal talks collapsed, the relationship between the two sides broke down completely. Head coach Luis Enrique excluded him from the squad’s long-term plans, and yesterday Donnarumma bid farewell to the fans at Parc des Princes.

For Manchester City, signing a top goalkeeper has become urgent. This summer, they spent €31.2 million to bring in James Trafford from Burnley, handing him the No.1 spot ahead of Ederson. However, Trafford’s performances have quickly come under fire after a series of costly errors, including in the 0-2 defeat to Tottenham yesterday.

Just a day after that loss, City struck a personal agreement with Donnarumma, signaling that Guardiola may be ready to give up on Trafford. The transfer, however, depends on whether City can successfully offload Ederson, with Turkish giants Galatasaray reportedly pushing to sign the Brazilian.

Donnarumma’s career has been full of twists. In 2015, at just 16, he made his Serie A debut for AC Milan, becoming the youngest starting goalkeeper in league history. After six years in Milan, he joined PSG on a free transfer, earning him the nickname “Dollarumma” for chasing big contracts. Now, after another fallout over salary demands, he looks set to begin a new chapter in Manchester.
