To ensure a smooth rollout in Beijing, the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation recently convened a guidance meeting with electric bicycle manufacturers and distributors operating in the capital. The session focused on outlining four concrete measures to guarantee the effective enforcement of the new rules.

Four Key Management Directives

During the meeting, authorities issued clear guidance to e-bike producers and sellers, emphasizing:

1. Accelerated Production of Compliant Models — Companies should adjust their production schedules to speed up the mass production and launch of models that meet the new standard.
2. Seamless Model Registration and Market Supply — Once an e-bike passes the new CCC certification, it should be promptly registered in Beijing’s official product catalog and sufficiently supplied to the market to ensure a smooth transition from old to new models.
3. Strict Sales Compliance and Service Standards — Enterprises must regulate store operations in line with the “Electric Bicycle Store Service Guide” group standard, strengthen compliance management in Beijing’s sales channels, and improve both sales control and after-sales service systems.
4. Full Alignment with Certification Information — The models, appearances, structures, and key components of all e-bikes sold must exactly match CCC certification details and the official catalog. Selling uncertified or non-listed vehicles is strictly prohibited.

Several company representatives confirmed that multiple models have already passed CCC certification under the new standard. Starting today, they are fully shifting to the production of compliant models, ensuring ample market supply to meet consumer demand.
