Huawei and Kylin Software Achieve Full Compatibility Between Kunpeng Processors and Galaxy Kylin OS V11

September 5 – In a landmark moment for China’s tech ecosystem, the latest Galaxy Kylin Operating System V11 has officially launched, becoming the nation’s first commercial OS built on the advanced 6.6 kernel.

Huawei proudly announced that its Kunpeng processors are now fully compatible with this cutting-edge release, marking a significant leap forward in technical integration and ecosystem development.

As a strategic ecosystem partner of Kunpeng, Kylin Software has been working hand-in-hand with Huawei across multiple sectors, delivering core business solutions for industries such as finance and energy. These joint efforts have set impressive benchmarks, including an average mean time between failures (MTBF) of 300,000 hours, providing a rock-solid foundation for high-performance, secure computing.

One standout example comes from a major state-owned bank. Facing the twin challenges of high-latency under heavy transaction loads and high maintenance costs for foreign systems, the bank adopted the “Kunpeng Processor + Galaxy Kylin OS” solution. The results were game-changing: peak TPS performance surged from 4,000 to 6,500, maintenance costs dropped by 28%, and the system operated for 18 consecutive months with zero downtime. This achievement made it the first domestically developed credit card core system to earn China UnionPay certification, ensuring stable operations and scalable growth.

Huawei emphasized that Kunpeng will continue to enhance its computing performance and energy efficiency, providing a robust foundation for both the operating system and upper-layer applications.

By deepening collaboration with Kylin Software, Huawei aims to fully harness their combined strengths in heterogeneous computing synergy and hardware-software co-optimization. This partnership will unleash maximum computing potential, integrate chip-level security with system-level protection, and meet the stringent security demands of sectors such as government services and finance.
