On September 25, SERES Group announced that it has received a filing notice from the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), approving its plan to issue up to 331,477,235 overseas-listed ordinary shares and seek a listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) Main Board. This marks a key step in the company’s nearly five-month-long preparation for a Hong Kong IPO.

According to regulations, if SERES fails to complete the listing within 12 months of the filing, it will need to update its application materials. The company noted that the proposed issuance and listing remain subject to approvals from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and HKEX, leaving some uncertainty.

SERES first announced its H-share listing plan on March 31 and formally submitted its application to HKEX on April 28, with CICC and China Galaxy International Securities serving as joint sponsors.

The company stated that the listing will advance its globalization strategy, create an international capital platform, and strengthen its overall competitiveness. According to its prospectus, about 70% of the raised funds will be allocated to R&D, while the remainder will go toward expanding marketing channels and overseas sales.
