Xiaomi’s Super Island Now Integrates Baidu Maps with Seamless Ride-Hailing and Real-Time Navigation

October 4 – IT Home News — Xiaomi’s HyperOS team has officially announced a major upgrade to the Super Island feature: it now fully supports Baidu Maps, bringing an even smarter and more fluid navigation experience to users.

With this update, Super Island can now display real-time map navigation directly on the island interface, perfectly adapting to different modes such as driving, cycling, and walking. More impressively, it now supports Baidu Maps ride-hailing, enabling users to track ride progress in real time and share trip details effortlessly with a simple drag gesture.

Just a day earlier, IT Home reported that Xiaomi’s HyperOS Super Island had already integrated Gaode (Amap) ride-hailing support. Once users update the Amap app to version 16.01.1.2018 or above, they can check their ride status right from the top of their screen. After requesting a car, Super Island automatically displays key details such as the driver’s ETA and license plate number, with an option to tap for more information.

Debuting with HyperOS 3, Xiaomi’s Super Island represents a refined evolution of the industry’s “island-style” interface. It features custom ultra-narrow typography, supports multiple islands displayed simultaneously, and allows flexible switching between them. The feature works seamlessly with both system apps like Clock and Phone, as well as third-party apps including Flight Manager, Didi Chuxing, and Hello Bike—bringing users a unified, intelligent, and elegant experience across travel and daily life.
