October 5 — IT Home News — Xiaomi Partner, President, and General Manager of the Xiaomi brand, Lu Weibing, shared an exciting sales update on Weibo this morning. As the National Day and Mid-Autumn holiday period reaches its midpoint, sales of the Xiaomi 17 series have surged more than 20% year-on-year, marking a significant leap over previous generations. The Pro models have performed far beyond expectations, prompting Xiaomi to ramp up production, while the standard edition continues to gain popularity among consumers.
Earlier reports from IT Home noted that the Xiaomi 17 Standard Edition (16GB + 1TB) is now officially on sale, featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Edition processor and a massive 7000mAh battery, priced at 5,299 RMB.
The Xiaomi 17 series was officially unveiled on September 25, initially offering 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 512GB configurations. Due to strong consumer demand, Xiaomi soon introduced the new 16GB + 1TB variant — a move that Lu Weibing humorously described as a response to user feedback: “We got scolded a lot, so we listened.”
On October 2, Lu further revealed that the Xiaomi 17 series has already exceeded 1 million units sold, achieving this milestone at a record-breaking pace compared to its predecessors. The impressive sales momentum underscores Xiaomi’s growing strength in the premium smartphone market and the enthusiastic reception from users nationwide.
