Hong Kong, 22 — After its 2023 release, TVB’s The Queen of News became both a ratings and word-of-mouth success, turning Charmaine Sheh — who plays the iconic “Man-jeh” Man Wai-sum — into one of the most talked-about stars of the year. The newly aired sequel, The Queen of News 2, has once again sparked a wave of enthusiastic viewership.

However, just as fans were anticipating a potential Season 3, Charmaine Sheh poured cold water on the idea during a recent interview in mainland China. She admitted, “I don’t think there will be a third season,” explaining that the screenwriting process has been extremely tough: “The writers’ heads are already exploding. I really don’t want to make things harder for them.”

Her candid response left many viewers disappointed.

At the recent TVB Anniversary Gala, comedian Louis Yuen delivered a hilarious parody of “Man-jeh” during the “Fuk Luk Sau” performance segment. His expressions and rewritten lyrics were spot-on, becoming one of the highlights of the night.

Yuen later revealed in an interview with Scoop that he had sent his parody photo to Charmaine Sheh beforehand, and she praised it as hilarious. When he posted the photo on Instagram, Sheh even left a playful comment, jokingly “passing the baton” to him: “I’m dying! You can play her in Season 3.”

Although Sheh expressed reservations about filming a third season, her humorous back-and-forth sparked lively discussion among fans.
