Australian Open Badminton: An Se-young Clinches Her 10th Title of the Year as Indonesia Shines with 2 Titles and 4 Runners-up

(Sydney, 23rd) The Australian Open (Super 500) concluded with Indonesia emerging as the most successful nation, collecting an impressive haul of two titles and four runner-up finishes. Meanwhile, World No. 1 An Se-young of South Korea once again demonstrated her dominance by securing her 10th title of the season.

The event opened with an all-Indonesian women’s doubles final. World No. 87 Rachel Allessya Rose and Febi Setianingrum stunned World No. 10 Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma and Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi. Despite losing the opening game, Rose/Setianingrum fought back strongly to win 18–21, 21–19, 23–21 and claim the championship.

Indonesia also ruled the men's doubles final. Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin (ranked 32nd) battled past Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri (ranked 13th) in a tight three-game contest, winning 22–20, 10–21, 21–18.

In men’s singles, India’s Lakshya Sen delivered a commanding performance, defeating Japan’s Takuma Tanaka 21–15, 21–11 to clinch the title.

Malaysia celebrated in mixed doubles as national pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei (World No. 4) overcame Indonesia’s Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Pasaribu in straight games, 21–16, 21–16, capturing their second title of the year.

The tournament wrapped up with the women’s singles final, where An Se-young overcame Indonesia’s Putri Kusuma Wardani 21–16, 21–14. The victory marked her 10th World Tour title of the season and reaffirmed her status as the world’s top shuttler.
