On December 27, at the WTCC World Tennis Intercontinental Exhibition in Shenzhen, Chinese rising star Wang Xinyu delivered the most defining win of her career. Representing Team World, Wang defeated World No.2 Iga Świątek in commanding fashion, 6–2, 6–3, sending shockwaves through the global tennis community.

Świątek, a six-time Grand Slam champion and one of the sport’s most dominant figures, had previously overwhelmed Wang in their only prior meeting at the 2023 French Open. This time, however, Wang returned with composure, confidence, and tactical maturity, securing her first-ever victory over the Polish star.
