Zhejiang Launch Title Bid for the New Season, Officially Sign 30-Year-Old South Korea International — $8.4M Transfer Fee, Salary Triples

On January 3 (Beijing time), Chinese Super League side Zhejiang FC officially announced the signing of 30-year-old Jeonbuk Hyundai captain Park Jin-seop. The South Korea international midfielder will wear the No. 4 shirt for Zhejiang in the new season.

According to earlier reporting from South Korean journalist Steve Han, Zhejiang agreed to pay Jeonbuk Hyundai a $1.2 million (approximately RMB 8.4 million) release fee to secure the move. Park is also believed to have been offered an annual salary of $1.5 million—nearly three times what he earned in Korea.

Born on October 23, 1995, in Jeonju, Park is an active member of the South Korea national team. During the 2025 season, he made 35 appearances for Jeonbuk Hyundai, recording 3 goals and 3 assists while helping the club complete a domestic league-and-cup double. Internationally, he has earned two senior caps, and his latest Transfermarkt valuation has risen to €1 million.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Park is known for his versatility across the spine of the team, capable of operating as a holding midfielder or in deeper defensive roles. Standing 1.86 meters tall, he brings strong physicality, reliable dueling ability, and a proven knack for interceptions and ball-winning.

Last season, Park averaged 7.14 interceptions per match and regained possession 12.49 times per game, with a defensive duel success rate of 73.61%. His arrival is expected to add both toughness and depth to Zhejiang’s midfield, giving the team a high-level defensive anchor in the center of the pitch.

Beyond his defensive impact, Park also offers clear value in attack—thanks to his aerial strength, long-range shooting, and the ability to launch moves from deep with composed passing. With Park now joining a squad that already includes key figures such as Wang Yudong and Mitriță, Zhejiang FC look increasingly equipped to mount a serious title push in the upcoming CSL season.
