(Hong Kong, Jan 9) Hong Kong actor-singer Daniel Chan Hiu-tung recently won Best Actor in the Main Competition section at the Hong Kong Bauhinia International Film Festival for his film Deceived for a Lifetime (《騙我一輩子》). The film’s producer and director later brought the trophy to Hong Kong and presented it to him in person. Chan described the moment as “unbelievable,” thanking the jury for their support and crediting the award to the combined efforts of the entire cast and crew.
According to Sing Tao Headline, this year marks Chan’s 30th anniversary in the industry, and he said the award feels like the perfect gift for the milestone. Adding to the celebration, Michael Tse Tin-wah also won Best Supporting Actor (Golden Lotus Award) at the Macau International Film Festival for the same film. With double good news, the two invited the producer, director, and others to a celebratory dinner.
On the music front, Chan released a new Cantonese single, “Today We Will All Fly” (《今天我們都會飛》), on Jan 9, alongside its Mandarin counterpart, “No More Entanglement” (《禁止糾纏》), released the same day. He described the two tracks as a relationship “two-part story”: one a gentle farewell, the other a clear-headed decision to stop—sharing the same melody but expressed through different languages and emotions.
Chan also revealed that many fans have been asking about a solo concert. He said he has been applying for performance venues and hopes to share good news soon.
