Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, and Chrissie Chau (Zhu Jianran) will appear in person in Kuala Lumpur for a public fan event on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, where they will interact with audiences and take part in a special thank-you screening promotion.

The film Back To The Past is executive produced by Louis Koo, produced by Tang Wai-bat, and co-directed by Ng Yuen-fai and Lai Chun-lung. Featuring original cast members including Louis Koo, Raymond Lam, Jessica Hsuan, Sonija Kwok, and Tavia Yeung, the movie is currently showing nationwide across Malaysia and has sparked strong viewing momentum across multiple regions.

As of yesterday, the film’s cumulative box office in Malaysia has surpassed RM10.20 million, continuing to climb rapidly. The cast will also be making a whirlwind visit to Malaysia for celebration and audience appreciation activities, underscoring the film’s “legendary comeback” momentum.

Remarkably, the film crossed the RM10 million milestone in just 11 days in Malaysia, making it the fastest Hong Kong film since 2020 (in nearly six years) to achieve that mark locally. It also kicked off 2026 as the first Chinese-language film to break the RM10 million threshold, setting multiple box-office milestones and highlighting the strong emotional connection Malaysian audiences have with the A Step Into The Past legacy.

Even before release, the film gained major traction: pre-sales reached RM1 million, setting a new record in Malaysia’s pre-sale history. After opening, it went on to become the top-opening Hong Kong film in Malaysia for 2025, and entered the list of the sixth-highest opening weekend Chinese-language films in Malaysian box-office history.
