On January 19, in a Serie A Round 21 highlight, AC Milan secured a 1-0 home victory over Lecce, earning their second consecutive win and extending their unbeaten run to 20 games, keeping them just three points behind Inter Milan.

Milan started aggressively. In the 9th minute, Leao’s solo chip found the net but was ruled offside. In the 34th minute, Pulisic’s close-range shot from the right was saved. After the break, Pulisic missed another chance in the 62nd minute, his close-range push shot blocked. In the 65th minute, Rabiot’s effort from close range went just over, leaving Milan struggling to convert multiple chances.

The breakthrough came in the 73rd minute when winter-loan signing Friedrich Krüger entered as a substitute. Three minutes later, Salemaekers delivered a cross from the right, and Krüger rose to head the ball into the net, sealing the win. This marked the 32-year-old German international’s first goal in five games for Milan. Remarkably, the €8 million signing had previously suffered a toe fracture against Fiorentina but continued to play despite the injury.

Milan held on for a 1-0 victory, maintaining their 20-game unbeaten streak since the opening-round loss. After 21 rounds, Milan sit second in the table with 13 wins, 7 draws, and 1 loss, 46 points, three behind Inter. Their next challenge is a tough away clash against Roma on January 26.
