AirAsia X appoints new CEO amid management reshuffle

(Kuala Lumpur, Jan 19) Following the completion of its aviation business acquisition, AirAsia X (AAX, 5238, Main Market Consumer) announced a series of senior management changes today, including the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer.

In a statement, AirAsia X said that Bo Lingam, formerly President and Chief Executive Officer of AirAsia Aviation Group, has been appointed as the new CEO of AirAsia X. Aged 60, Bo Lingam has extensive experience in the aviation industry, having joined AirAsia in 2001 and held various senior leadership positions over the years.

At the same time, AirAsia X appointed Farouk Kamal, formerly Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Corporate Affairs) of AirAsia Aviation Group, as its new Deputy CEO, while Lau Ka Kuan (transliterated) was named Chief Financial Officer.

Meanwhile, the former CEO of AirAsia X, Benjamin Ismail, has been redesignated as Managing Director, and the former CFO, Raveen Jethi, has been reassigned as Group Financial Controller.

All appointments and role changes took effect on January 19.
