IT Home reported on January 25 that PayPal officially announced last week (January 16) the launch of Individual Seller Accounts in China, a move designed to help more freelancers and independent creators expand into global markets.

According to PayPal, the new Individual Seller Account supports personal real-name verification. Users can open an account using only a national ID and complete registration plus verification in as little as 15 minutes. Once set up, sellers can start accepting cross-border payments right away via PayPal Fastlane Checkout or PayPal Global Invoicing—without needing any website integration.

PayPal Fastlane Checkout is built for flexible, real-world selling scenarios such as social media promotions, private community sales, offline expo negotiations, and B2B outreach. Sellers don’t need to build an independent website or write code—simply share a payment link or QR code to collect international payments. Buyers can pay using familiar options including PayPal, PayPal Pay Later, Apple Pay, or standard credit/debit cards.

Meanwhile, PayPal Global Invoicing is tailored for B2B foreign trade workflows. With this tool, sellers can issue professional invoices, customize fields as needed, and add detailed order information to make transactions clearer and more complete—helping present a more polished and credible business image.
