On January 27, the men’s singles quarterfinals of the Australian Open continued, with top seed and world No.1 Carlos Alcaraz facing sixth seed and home favorite Alex de Minaur. In a highly anticipated clash between the world’s top-ranked player and Australia’s No.1, Alcaraz delivered a dominant performance, defeating de Minaur 7-5, 6-2, 6-1 to advance to the semifinals.
This marks Alcaraz’s first-ever semifinal appearance at the Australian Open and his 10th Grand Slam semifinal overall. With this result, he has now reached the semifinals at all four Grand Slam tournaments, moving within just two wins of completing a career Grand Slam.

The second set followed a similar pattern, as Alcaraz broke early and surged to a 3-0 advantage. He sealed the set with another break in the eighth game, winning it 6-2.
In the third set, Alcaraz completely took control. He opened with a 3-0 lead, broke again in the sixth game, and comfortably held serve to close out the match 6-1.
