On January 27, Android Headline reported that the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra features a boxy, sharp-edged design—but some long-term users discovered that its titanium frame is so sharp it can actually wear holes in their jeans.

The S24 Ultra’s straight edges and angular corners give it a professional, rugged look, but also create unintended annoyances. Early adopters shared complaints on official forums and Reddit, noting that the sharp corners could dig into their palms during prolonged use.

Over time, more users posted photos on Reddit and X showing jeans damaged by repeated contact with the phone. These holes usually appear after months of friction, leading some to jokingly describe the S24 Ultra’s titanium frame as a “slow-motion chainsaw” for denim.

Fortunately, Samsung addressed the issue in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. The new model features more rounded edges, improving comfort while still keeping the display and mid-frame angular—saving both hands and jeans.

For users worried about ripped jeans, the simplest solution is a protective case. Some users also humorously suggest wearing looser pants with bigger pockets to reduce friction.
