Spy Shots Reveal Rolls-Royce’s Second Electric SUV: Size Similar to Cullinan

On January 29, Autocar reported that Rolls-Royce is testing its second electric vehicle—a brand-new SUV comparable in size to the Cullinan—in cold-weather conditions. The new model is expected to compete with Bentley’s upcoming first electric SUV. The vehicle was spotted at BMW Group’s test facility in Arjeplog, Sweden, and its exterior appears nearly production-ready.

The new SUV will continue to use Rolls-Royce’s “Architecture of Luxury” platform, which underpins all current models, including the brand’s first electric coupe, the Spectre. The Spectre is equipped with a 102kWh battery, offers a 529km range, and the top Black Badge version delivers up to 650bhp from its dual-motor system.

The SUV may also adopt BMW’s latest Gen6 battery and electric drive technologies, intended for Rolls-Royce’s next-generation EV lineup, with the new iX3 SUV as the first model using these technologies.

According to current timelines, the SUV is expected to debut in the coming months, with official release roughly a year later. Rolls-Royce has not yet revealed any official details. For comparison, the Spectre took about a year from testing to launch.

Bentley, as a direct competitor, plans to launch its first electric SUV—a city-oriented SUV—in the fourth quarter of 2026.
