(Munich, Feb 6) German semiconductor major Infineon announced that it will raise prices for selected products, citing continued tight supply of power switches and related chips, as well as rising raw material and infrastructure costs.

The new prices will take effect on April 1. Infineon said all new orders placed after that date, as well as existing backlog orders scheduled for shipment on April 1, will be delivered based on the revised pricing.

The company noted that the rapid build-out of AI data centers has led to shortages for certain products, requiring additional investment to expand chip production capacity.

Earlier, Infineon released its earnings report and forecast that revenue tied to its data center business will rise from around €1.5 billion (about RM6.99 billion) in fiscal 2026 to €2.5 billion (about RM11.649 billion) in fiscal 2027. Growth in AI data center demand is expected to help offset weakness in its automotive chip business, which remains the company’s largest contributor, accounting for roughly half of total revenue.
