69-Year-Old TVB Villain Actor Tai Chi-wai Spotted in Recent Photos — Image Once Hit Hard by Cheating Scandal

Veteran Hong Kong actor Tai Chi-wai, once widely known as TVB’s “go-to villain,” has largely stepped away from the spotlight and will turn 70 next month. Recently, musician Ng Chung-hang shared a photo with him on social media, offering a rare glimpse into his current life.

In the photo, Tai appears in a blue athletic tank top. While his hair has thinned slightly, his complexion remains healthy and his physique fit, with many noting that he looks far younger than his age.

A graduate of TVB’s 10th Artist Training Class, Tai was a contemporary of stars such as Andy Lau and Tony Leung Ka-fai. He became well known for roles in series like The Legend of the Condor Heroes and Police Cadet, often portraying antagonistic or unfaithful characters that earned him his “villain specialist” reputation.

Over his 30-year career at TVB, Tai frequently appeared in supporting roles across numerous classic dramas, including The Return of the Condor Heroes. Despite his on-screen persona, he was widely regarded as a positive figure in real life.

After leaving TVB in 2011, he transitioned into the insurance industry and currently works as a senior regional manager, maintaining a relatively low-profile lifestyle.

In his personal life, Tai is married with two sons and was once praised by actress Chan Chiu-chiu as a devoted family man. However, his reputation faced challenges in 2020 when he was reportedly involved in a controversy with a younger female colleague, after being photographed walking hand-in-hand with her at Repulse Bay.
