(Seoul, March 28) South Korean actor Lee Sang-bo has reportedly passed away at the age of 44. He was found deceased on March 26, with police responding to a report from his family. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. His agency, KMG, stated that details are still being confirmed.

Lee made his acting debut in 2006 through the drama Invisible Man Choi Jang-soo and went on to appear in a number of television series, including Golden Era of Daughter-in-law, Bad Love, Private Lives, Miss Monte-Cristo, and Elegant Empire, establishing a steady presence on screen.

He also appeared in films, beginning with the Japanese production Kisarazu Cat's Eye: World Series, followed by roles in Secretly, Greatly and Mephisto.

In 2022, Lee was involved in a drug-related controversy after being reported for erratic behavior in public. Initial reports suggested a positive drug test; however, the case later took a turn when authorities confirmed that the symptoms were caused by prescribed antidepressant medication. Due to insufficient evidence, the case was closed with no charges.

His sudden passing has shocked the entertainment industry, and further details are awaited as investigations continue.
