From defensive intensity to team coordination, China was outplayed throughout—despite Cameroon not qualifying for the World Cup.

Coming off a 2–0 win over Curaçao, head coach Shao Jiayi earned his first victory with the team. However, in this match, China adopted a more defensive 5-4-1 setup, with Zhang Yuning leading the line and Wei Shihao and Wang Yudong operating on the wings. Cameroon, meanwhile, was led by forward Aiyong of Levante UD.
