(Beijing, April 10) To achieve the iconic platinum-blonde look for his “King of Beasts” tour, Chinese singer Joker Xue underwent multiple rounds of intensive bleaching before performances, resulting in severe scalp damage. Photos revealing patchy hair loss and blisters quickly trended on Weibo, sparking widespread concern.

Despite experiencing visible physical strain, he pushed through and completed his performances to maintain the intended stage visuals. However, once the images surfaced, fans expressed deep concern, urging him to cut back on hair treatments, with many commenting, “Please stop bleaching—it’s too damaging.”

On the evening of April 8, he shared three photos on Xiaohongshu: strands of broken blonde hair on his leg, visible bald patches and blisters on his scalp, and a slightly fatigued selfie. He admitted that the issue had already emerged before the first show, stating, “My hair was almost completely damaged from bleaching… my scalp was covered in bald spots and blisters. I even went a week without washing my hair—styling just hid it.”

He explained that the damage was primarily caused by repeated bleaching to achieve lighter tones. In pursuit of the perfect stage appearance, he relied heavily on styling techniques to conceal the condition.

Following the post, fans flooded the comments with concern: “This is heartbreaking—please rest,” and “Your health matters more than the stage.” Some also suggested practical alternatives, such as wearing wigs instead of undergoing extreme chemical treatments.
