(Beijing, 25th) Chinese internet personality “Goutou Luoli,” Xia Kaixuan, has once again drawn public attention after releasing an 8-minute video on Thursday (23rd), where she spoke candidly about her personal experiences and views on relationships, including the remark that “men are merely a form of emotional distraction.”

Xia was previously at the center of a major controversy in 2021 involving the non-consensual distribution of private videos by her former partner. The incident triggered widespread public scrutiny and emotional distress. She later reported the case to authorities, and the individual was sentenced to eight months in prison for distributing obscene materials, completing the sentence in 2023.

In her recent video, Xia appeared without makeup and acknowledged that she does not fit a “perfect” image, while firmly denying allegations of infidelity. She explained that she had considered the relationship over, though differing perspectives led to ongoing disputes.

She also spoke about her past, revealing that early-life trauma had significantly shaped her views on trust, family, and intimacy. As a result, she expressed reluctance toward long-term relationships and admitted to maintaining emotional distance in interactions.

Over the past few years, Xia has faced multiple challenges, including contractual disputes, public criticism, and career setbacks. In 2023, she stepped away from livestreaming and began running a street food stall selling jianbing, gradually rebuilding her life.

In 2025, she won a defamation lawsuit after two years, with the court ruling that several widely circulated claims were false. She responded simply: “The truth may be late, but it will not be absent.”

Public opinion remains divided—some continue to focus on past controversies, while others recognize her efforts to rebuild. The case has also reignited broader discussions around online harassment and personal privacy.
