BLACKPINK member Rosé is set to return with her new single “New Trick”. Apple and Rosé shared teasers on their official social media accounts on the 9th, announcing that the song will be released at 7pm US Eastern Time on the 17th and 8am Korean time on the 18th.
Making the release even more notable, the entire music video was filmed using the newly unveiled iPhone 18 Pro as part of Apple’s latest “Shot on iPhone” campaign.
Apple and Rosé first teased the collaboration through a joint Instagram post. In the photo, Rosé is seen taking a mirror selfie with an iPhone alongside the caption, “iPhone, new trick, watch this”, accompanied by the hashtags “#ShotoniPhone18Pro” and “#newtrick”.
A teaser video released later showed the blonde singer holding an oversized lollipop repeatedly printed with the words “new trick”, officially revealing the title of the upcoming single. Apple also confirmed the release schedule and that the visuals were filmed on the iPhone 18 Pro.
The music video is directed by renowned music video director Dave Meyers, who has previously worked with international stars including Harry Styles, Ariana Grande and SZA.
Released in conjunction with the iPhone 18 Pro, the “New Trick” MV forms part of Apple’s “Shot on iPhone” campaign, combining Rosé’s latest musical concept with a showcase of the new device’s video capabilities.
Musically, “New Trick” is described as a Pop Rock-influenced track, with Rosé collaborating with singer-songwriter Amy Allen on the song. Compared with the more emotional and introspective sound of her debut studio album “rosie”, the new track is expected to reveal a sharper and more energetic side of the singer.
