Israel Blocks Six Middle Eastern Foreign Ministers from Visiting West Bank, Jordan Condemns Violation of International Law

According to Al Jazeera on May 31, Israel has denied permission for a delegation of six foreign ministers from Middle Eastern countries to visit Ramallah in the West Bank on June 1. The delegation, consisting of the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and Turkey, had planned to meet with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and hold an Arab foreign ministers’ meeting in Ramallah. A Palestinian Authority official stated that whether the meeting scheduled for Sunday can proceed “is still under discussion.”

In response, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry issued a strong condemnation, stating that Israel’s move is a blatant violation of its international obligations.
