Man United Stops Selling Three Players' Shirts, Signaling Exit — Rashford Becomes Hardest Asset to Offload

As Manchester United launched next season’s official kit, fans noticed that the shirts of Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia were no longer available on the club’s official store — a clear sign that the trio is set to leave this summer. In contrast, Marcus Rashford’s No. 10 jersey remains on sale, underlining a more awkward reality: no serious offers have been made for the once-prized academy graduate.

All four players spent last season out on loan, with only Sancho completing a full season. His No. 25 shirt has already been reassigned to new signing Ugarte. Meanwhile, Antony’s No. 21 and Malacia’s No. 12 remain vacant but have also disappeared from the shirt selection list — hinting at an imminent sale.

Antony, who scored 9 goals and provided 5 assists on loan at Real Betis, is now subject to a partial ownership bid from the Spanish club worth £17 million. While such arrangements are common in Europe (especially in Serie A), they are prohibited in the Premier League. Still, Betis and United could explore alternatives, like a high sell-on clause or deferred payments. United, keen to offload Antony’s £200,000-per-week wage, are demanding a larger upfront fee.

Malacia’s situation is simpler. His contract is entering its final year, and following an unsuccessful loan at PSV, United are reportedly willing to sell him for less than €10 million — far below the €15 million fee paid to Feyenoord in 2022.

Sancho, whose deal also expires next year, saw Chelsea recently pay £5 million to terminate a £25 million buy clause. Napoli is reportedly interested, but with Sancho earning over £250,000 per week, United may have to loan him again.

Rashford, however, presents the biggest challenge. On a staggering £325,000-a-week salary, he is only open to joining Barcelona — and only if they match his terms. But reports now suggest Barça will prioritize signing Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao. Rashford isn’t even on new manager Hansi Flick’s primary target list.

Despite scoring 4 goals and assisting 6 in 17 games on loan at Aston Villa, Rashford’s season was cut short by injury. BBC reports he’s set for talks with United in mid-June to determine his future.

Still, United continues to sell Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho’s shirts — a move combining fan loyalty and financial logic. Both are academy products with strong fanbases. For United’s ownership, any extra revenue — even from departing stars — is welcome.
