In the early hours of January 1, Huang Zitao’s ZTAO Studio issued an apology and clarification, saying it had received public feedback. The studio explained that earlier that morning, the trending topic “Huang Zitao and Xu Yiyang passionately kissed on a New Year’s Eve stage” reached No.1 on the entertainment chart, but the content circulating was actually rehearsal footage from December 30.

The studio said it mistakenly believed the topic was simply describing the rehearsal, and felt the wording involved potential exaggeration and over-interpretation. As a result, it informed a major fan community that the trending topic was inaccurate and asked them to relay the message. The studio stressed that its intention was to clarify that the trending content did not match the rehearsal situation, but admitted that its own mistake led to the current misunderstanding and apologized for it.
