Rokid x Alipay Launch World’s First Smart Glasses with Built-In Payment — A Glimpse Is All It Takes
June 17 marks a new milestone in the evolution of wearable tech. Rokid has teamed up with Alipay to unveil the world's first smart glasses equipped with native payment capabilities — Rokid Glasses. This innovation introduces the "Glance to Pay" feature, allowing users to complete payments through voice and visual recognition, without ever needing to pull out a smartphone.
Seamless payments, hands-free convenience.
The payment process involves just three steps:
- While wearing Rokid Glasses, the user gives a voice command: “Rokid, pay 10 yuan.”
- The glasses automatically recognize the Alipay QR code.
- The user confirms by saying “Confirm payment” — and it’s done.
The transaction details are displayed inside the glasses, allowing for quick, on-the-go payments, ideal for busy commutes or when your hands are full.
Beyond convenience — a game-changer for accessibility.
Rokid points out that this functionality is especially beneficial for people with disabilities, offering a more inclusive payment experience by removing the need for screen navigation or manual input.
Security is front and center.
Backed by Alipay’s multidimensional risk control system, Rokid Glasses ensure secure transactions via device-user binding and voice authentication. Alipay guarantees compensation for any unauthorized payment loss under its “Theft Protection Promise.”
Looking ahead, Rokid and Alipay plan to expand into broader lifestyle use cases:
- Parking fee payments simply by looking at the exit terminal;
- Voice-enabled bill payments for utilities and mobile top-ups;
- Hands-free ordering, hailing rides, and even adding reminders by voice.
Currently, Rokid Glasses have received over 250,000 global pre-orders and will begin delivery at the end of June — ushering in a new era where AR meets seamless payment integration.
