White House Hypes Trump as a “Peacemaker”: Six Conflicts Mediated in Six Months, Nobel-Worthy?

The White House has once again advocated for Donald Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. During a press briefing on July 31, spokesperson Levitt praised Trump’s diplomatic efforts since returning to office, saying his conflict mediation record alone should have earned him the award long ago.

Levitt listed several examples, noting Trump has helped broker peace or ceasefires in conflicts involving Thailand and Cambodia, Israel and Iran, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, India and Pakistan, Serbia and Kosovo, and Egypt and Ethiopia. “That means President Trump has brokered a peace deal or truce nearly every month since taking office,” she said. “How is that not Nobel-worthy?”

Trump’s fascination with the Nobel Prize is no secret. Back in February, during a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, he lamented: “I’ve done a lot for peace in the Middle East and Africa, but they never give me the prize. I deserve it, but they just won’t give it to someone as conservative as me.”

Despite his remarks often stirring controversy, Trump continues to push the narrative of being a global peacemaker. Analysts see the White House’s latest endorsement as part of a broader strategy to shape the narrative ahead of the 2026 election campaign.
