Apple is taking iPhone battery management to a whole new level with iOS 26, introducing five powerful new features designed to maximize battery life and give users unprecedented transparency into power usage.
A Smarter, More Insightful Battery Settings Interface
In iOS 26, the battery settings page gets a complete redesign, delivering richer and more detailed power analytics. At the top, you’ll now see your current battery percentage, the last time you charged, and—when charging—an estimate of how long it will take to reach full power.
One of the biggest changes is the new weekly average usage view, replacing the old 24-hour and 10-day charts. This new view lets you compare your current battery consumption against your typical average, flagging abnormal usage and highlighting exactly which apps are consuming more power than usual—and by how much. You can even enable notifications to get real-time alerts when power drain spikes unexpectedly.
Clear, Actionable App Power Insights
The updated app power details page now goes beyond raw percentages, showing why an app is draining your battery—whether it’s from extended background activity, prolonged screen time, or excessive notifications. High-consumption apps are highlighted in orange for quick identification, and you can review detailed daily data for the past 7 days, including active and idle screen power usage, plus precise charging times and durations.
Battery Health and Smarter Power Saving Modes
Battery health tools remain in place, still showing maximum capacity and charge cycle counts. The charging limit option lets you cap battery charge at 80% to extend longevity, and now you have two power-saving options: the familiar Low Power Mode and the all-new Adaptive Power Saver.
Adaptive Power Saver is a standout feature that intelligently detects abnormal power consumption and automatically adjusts system behavior to extend battery life. This may include dimming the display, delaying certain processes, or activating Low Power Mode automatically when your battery dips to 20%. Powered by Apple Intelligence, this feature runs silently in the background and is available exclusively on iPhone 15 Pro and later. Users can also opt to receive notifications whenever it kicks in.
Charging Experience, Refined
Charging on iOS 26 is now more intuitive. Plug in your iPhone, tap the screen, and instantly see how long it will take to reach either a full charge or your set charging limit. This information is also accessible in Settings > Battery.
When your battery drops to 20%, the Dynamic Island will display a Low Power Mode prompt for quick activation. And if charging is paused—due to Optimized Charging or high temperature—the battery icon will turn from green to gray, giving you a clear visual cue.
With these updates, iOS 26 doesn’t just manage your battery—it empowers you to understand and control it like never before. 🚀🔋
