On October 10, actress Bai Lu revealed during the wrap-up ceremony of her new drama “Mo Li” that she has been battling an illness — one that doctors have yet to identify.
Bai shared that her symptoms began on July 18, when she started experiencing severe headaches. Throughout August, she spent nearly the entire month seeking treatment. “During that time, I felt extremely weak and hopeless,” she confessed. “I couldn’t eat anything at all — my weight dropped to just 43 kilograms (86 pounds).”
Later that afternoon, Bai took to social media with a heartfelt post celebrating the completion of filming, writing, “Wrapped with joy.” She shared four photos from the set — some showing her laughing playfully, others tearful and deeply emotional, capturing both her strength and vulnerability.
Earlier in July, behind-the-scenes photos from “Mo Li” had already sparked concern among fans, showing Bai noticeably thinner with fatigue evident in her eyes.
According to reports, Bai had deliberately lost 10 to 15 pounds within four months to portray the cold, fragile aura of her character — a war-torn orphan struggling for survival. While fans admire her dedication, many have urged her to prioritize her health over perfection, reminding her that her well-being matters more than any role.
Born on September 23, 1994, Bai Lu (real name Bai Mengyan) is a Chinese actress and model. She made her debut in 2016 as the lead in Lu Hu’s music video “Message” and has since starred in numerous acclaimed dramas, including “Untouchable Lovers,” “Arsenal Military Academy,” “One and Only,” and “Story of Kunning Palace.” Her modern drama “Beishang” premiered on March 3, 2025, where she portrayed the inspiring character Xia Fenghua.
