Mayday frontman Ashin made a surprise appearance at Apple’s 2026 launch event, held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park at 1am Malaysian time on September 10.
Shortly after the event ended, Ashin posted a selfie showing off his red event pass and jokingly captioned it, “Fifth row in the rock zone!”
He later shared a photo with Apple’s new CEO Ternus, describing his experience at the Steve Jobs Theater as “incredible” and expressing his happiness at meeting him.
Reflecting on the evolution of technology, Ashin said it would have been difficult to believe 25 years ago that almost everyone would one day carry a small black device and spend so much time with it every day. Today, he said, technology continues to transform everyday life, allowing people to see further, hear with greater depth and enjoy increasingly immersive experiences.
“Technology keeps moving forward. But what matters is how it brings us closer to the world, and to each other,” Ashin wrote.
Ashin attended the event alongside his longtime friend and renowned director Chen Yi-ren. Apart from witnessing Apple’s latest product launches, the pair also saw Ternus make his first major launch-event appearance as CEO. After the presentation, Ashin even brought out his “Cosmic Orange” iPhone 17 Pro, which he had previously shown at a Mayday concert, to take a selfie with Ternus.
Meanwhile, Mayday fans were busy searching for glimpses of Ashin across social media. Turkish influencer Anıl Altan responded to fans by sharing a selfie with the singer, even writing in Chinese that his direct messages had been flooded and that he had taken the photo especially for them.
American streamer IShowSpeed, who has tens of millions of YouTube followers, also crossed paths with Ashin during his livestream. The two had a light-hearted conversation in English, creating another unexpected highlight from the event.
