(Kuala Lumpur, 11 Sep) The 25th Anugerah Industri Muzik Malaysia (AIM25) has announced its top five finalists across 32 award categories, with 135 music acts making the cut. Singer-songwriter Firdhaus emerged as one of the highlights with three nominations.
After winning Best Local Chinese Song at AIM24 last year with “Divorce in Ghana,” Firdhaus returns with three songs — “你想得美,” “好好吃饭” and “也许是我写给你的最后一首歌.” Two of them, “你想得美” and “好好吃饭,” are also nominated for Best Music Video.
Other contenders include Yise Loo with “好好爱自己” and Hong Chen Feng with “带走.” Hong said he was both surprised and excited to be nominated alongside other talented singers.
Meanwhile, girl group DOLLA earned a spot in the Best Local English Song category with “MWA! (English Version),” while Liu Shu Yu’s “Anugerah Hati” was nominated for Best Single/Album Cover Design.
AIM25 will take place on 26 September at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching, Sarawak. Firdhaus will perform at the ceremony, while Soo Wincci will appear as an award presenter.
