(Hong Kong, 13 Sept) Hong Kong actor Benny Chan and his wife Lisa Jiang became involved in a heated argument during a recent livestream, after Chan criticised his wife for being dissatisfied with their current life.
The argument escalated when Jiang brought up Chan’s past, claiming that he had fully paid for a property for an ex-girlfriend before their marriage. She said the former girlfriend later made a profit from selling the property, while Chan did not recover his money.
Visibly uncomfortable, Chan tried to stop his wife from discussing the matter, saying they could talk about their own relationship without involving others. Jiang responded sarcastically that he was “protecting his ex-girlfriend”.
Chan later attempted to calm his wife with affectionate gestures and promised to work harder to earn more money, but tensions remained high.
Jiang also spoke about the challenges she faced after marriage, including undergoing four Caesarean sections within five years and raising their four children. She said the contrast between her careful household spending and Chan’s alleged generosity towards his former girlfriend had left her feeling upset and unbalanced.
