China’s November Shipments of Overseas Brand Smartphones Surge 1.3 Times, Led by iPhone

(Beijing, 26th) Data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, showed that smartphone shipments in China reached 30.16 million units in November, up 1.9% year-on-year.

Of this total, 5G handset shipments amounted to 27.61 million units, marking a 1.1% annual increase and accounting for 91.6% of total shipments. Domestic-brand smartphone shipments stood at 23.23 million units in November, representing a year-on-year decline of 12.6% and making up 77.7% of the market.

By implication, shipments of overseas-brand smartphones—including flagship iPhone models from Apple—reached approximately 6.93 million units, surging about 128% from a year earlier. For the first 11 months of the year, total smartphone shipments in China reached 282 million units, up 0.9% year-on-year. Among them, 5G smartphone shipments totalled 244 million units, growing 1.3% annually and accounting for 86.6% of total shipments during the period.
