(Hong Kong, 25th) The relationship between British football icon David Beckham and his wife Victoria with their 26-year-old eldest son Brooklyn has reportedly completely broken down. Brooklyn recently published a lengthy statement on social media, accusing his parents of controlling the family narrative, interfering in his marriage, and deliberately harming his wife, Nicola Peltz. He also made it clear that he has no intention of reconciling with them.

In his Instagram Stories, Brooklyn publicly outlined multiple allegations for the first time, including long-term emotional control and the fabrication of a so-called “perfect family” image. He claimed that the family’s public harmony had been staged for years, sparking widespread public debate.

Commenting on the issue was Hong Kong entertainer Derek Tang Siu-tong, who also grew up in a prominent family. Tang is the son of the late Cantonese opera legend Sun Ma Sze Tsang (Tang Wing-cheung). Following his father’s death in 1997, the Tang family became embroiled in a highly publicized inheritance dispute involving Tang’s mother, Hung Kam-mei, and her four children.

The family feud lasted for more than a decade, during which the mother and children met only in court and exchanged harsh accusations. Although their relationship briefly improved around Hung’s 61st birthday, it soon deteriorated again. It was not until her death from illness in 2017 that she reportedly gained a new perspective on family ties and asset distribution.

Speaking on his YouTube channel “3 Bao Channel,” Tang shared his views on the Beckham family situation. He said, “Every family has its own way of operating. When we were young — like Nicholas Tse’s generation — appearing in magazines or public events was not optional. If you’re born into such a family, you have to accept those responsibilities.”

He added, “Who provides you with this lifestyle? Why make so many demands? In our generation, we believed that coming from a special family meant behaving more carefully. But today’s younger generation values personal freedom and space. The more pressure you put on them, the stronger their rebellion becomes.”

On how to cope with family pressure, Tang concluded, “I think he should go out and experience life on his own, fall a few times. When you no longer have protection and no one helps you back up, you’ll understand what you once had — and learn to accept reality.”
