Fully cooperating with authorities’ investigation, Ipoh Engineering says operations remain normal

(Kuala Lumpur, 9th) IJM Corporation Berhad (IJM, 3336, Main Market – Construction) issued a statement today to reassure stakeholders following an investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) linked to an alleged money-laundering case, stressing that operations continue as usual.

IJM said it has established robust internal procedures and a strong governance framework, including an anti-bribery management system certified under ISO 37001:2025.

The group added that it is fully cooperating with the authorities, responding promptly to requests and providing relevant information and personnel to assist the investigation. The board reiterated its commitment to business continuity, maintaining confidence among customers and partners, and upholding high standards of corporate governance and compliance.

IJM noted that, as the matter remains under investigation, it will not comment further at this stage, and will provide updates when appropriate in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

Separately, non-executive chairman Tan Sri Chen Wen Cheng said in a statement yesterday that he has full confidence in Malaysia’s enforcement agencies and legal system, and is cooperating fully with the investigation. He also said he is not involved in the company’s day-to-day operations and management, and declined further comment while investigations are ongoing.
