(Hong Kong, March 28) Award-winning actor Louis Koo made a public appearance in Tsim Sha Tsui on March 28 to attend the opening of a retail store—revisiting a collaboration that dates back 25 years, when he was filming the iconic series A Step into the Past.

In a nostalgic touch, the brand invited a staff member who had previously taken a photo with him decades ago to reunite on stage. After the event, Koo warmly approached fans, taking photos and signing albums and pictures, showcasing his approachable personality.

When asked about buying dried seafood for his mother, he joked that she is far more experienced and would rely on staff recommendations. He shared that his mother excels at cooking dishes like fish maw and abalone soup, while his own cooking skills are limited to simple Western dishes like steak—though he admits he’s better at eating.

Koo also revealed his unique habits, including eating ice cream even in winter and sleeping in a very cold room with the air-conditioning set to maximum. “It has to be cold for me to sleep,” he said, describing his room as almost like a freezer.

Addressing recent photos of him holding hands with Jessica Hsuan, he joked, “If not holding hands, then what—arguing?” He hinted that the two are working on a new project but kept details under wraps, calling it a “surprise.”

He also announced plans to host a finale screening event for the TV version of A Step into the Past, noting that he will be more mindful of scheduling to avoid inconveniencing fans.

Regarding an earlier incident where a laser pointer was aimed at his eyes, Koo humorously said he thought he was “shooting lasers” himself. However, he cautioned that such actions could be dangerous and should be avoided. Fortunately, he was wearing sunglasses at the time.

He shared that his eyes are still recovering and remain sensitive to bright light. As a result, he has reduced phone usage, opting instead for television and an iPad, especially after undergoing neck surgery.

Ending on a high note, Koo hinted at upcoming surprises related to his music releases, teasing fans with something “unexpected” in the near future.
