(New York, 10th) Instagram has officially rolled out a new feature aimed at improving user interaction, introducing the long-awaited comment editing function.

With this update, users can edit their comments within 15 minutes after posting, allowing them to quickly correct typos or refine their tone. Previously, users had to delete and repost comments when mistakes or overly emotional wording occurred, making the process less convenient.

Once a comment is edited, a visible “Edited” label will appear, informing others that changes have been made. However, the platform does not provide a version history, meaning previous versions of the comment cannot be viewed. This differs from the transparency features seen on Facebook, which is also under Meta Platforms.

Notably, this feature is not restricted to any paid subscription tier and is available to all users as part of a general user experience enhancement.

Meanwhile, Meta Platforms has revealed that Instagram is currently testing new subscription-based features, although comment editing remains a free and standard update.
