Chinese actress Liu Yifei has sparked online controversy after allegedly cropping Vietnamese star Ho Ngoc Ha out of a photo taken at a high jewellery dinner.
As the issue gained attention, many Vietnamese fans expressed disappointment on Ho Ngoc Ha’s behalf. One netizen questioned why Vietnamese celebrities appeared to be treated unfairly by stars from other countries.
Instead of responding negatively, Ho Ngoc Ha calmly replied, “Then we’ll just keep working even harder,” earning praise for her mature and positive attitude.
The controversy began after Liu Yifei shared photos from the event on Instagram on the 8th. Netizens noticed that an original group photo featuring Liu Yifei, Bulgari’s CEO and Ho Ngoc Ha had reportedly been cropped so that only Liu and the CEO remained in the posted image.
The move drew even more attention because Ho Ngoc Ha had previously praised Liu Yifei, saying she was “very beautiful in person and super cute”.
A large number of Vietnamese netizens later flooded Liu Yifei’s social media with comments. As the controversy continued, Liu eventually removed the photo.
